Yollotl Cuicatl invites you to join them this Fall for an overnight, 

nature based weekend in-person retreat:

This in-person retreat is limited to only 8 participants and we require all participants be fully vaccinated from COVID 19 and show proof of 72-hour NEGATIVE COVID test. 


WHERE: Rancho Milagro (North San Diego County) all outdoors camping style tents* will be available you just need to bring your own sleeping bags, pillow, and floor mats if you like to sleep comfy.

2 guests per tent (let me know if you absolutely do not want to share tent we could accommodate)


*Tents are roomy the ones used for glamping


WHAT THIS RETREAT IS ALL ABOUT: 

This will be an experiential retreat that will including Ritual and Ceremony, Ancestral Connections and Nature Centered Practices.  Weaved into our time together will be mindfulness & grounding exercises, expressive arts/movement, and hands on somatic opportunities to connect with the elements and time for deep reflection individually and collectively. 

We will immerse ourselves in a nurturing experience with fellow healing arts practitioners and helping professionals, exploring daily practices that support our bodies, hearts, and minds towards feeling grounded and connected to our roots. Collectively exploring and learning from each other, in a mutually supportive environment. Decolonizing and deconstructing old paradigms and narratives that keep us from tapping into our intuition and medicine within.


WHAT THIS RETREAT INCLUDES: 

  • 2 full days plus 1 night = 14 hours of transformational opportunities 
  • Lodging for 1 night (Outdoor camping/Shared Accommodation)- Bathroom and Shower available
  • All meals included plus snacks, drinks, coffee, and tea

  • 1 hour Sound Bath Meditation Practice
  • Journal with powerful prompts/questions for continued inner awareness

In addition, you will have the opportunity to join our monthly virtual restorative circles and continue receiving support and connection. Learning Ancestral ways of nourishing our mind, body, and spirit. We will meet once a month for 2 hours for a total of 6 months.

Emilia Ortega- Jara, LCSW, will be facilitating and hosting this fall's retreat.

Emilia is founder and clinical director of Corazon Counseling Service and Yollotl Cuicatl Coaching & Guidance. With over 20 years of working in the mental health field, Emilia has been a longtime advocate for culturally and linguistically appropriate mental health services for the Latinx/Chicanx community and has worked with various social justice organizations and community-based mental health agencies. Emilia highlights the importance of culture, ceremony, and ritual throughout the work she facilitates, incorporating aspects of traditional indigenous wisdom and modern psychotherapy techniques. In addition to her psychotherapy practice, Emilia provides community training and workshops on various topics related to maternal mental health and facilitates rites of passage ceremonies from puberty to motherhood. Emilia is also a cultural practitioner and ceremonial Aztec dancer, living in harmony and connected to the land and elements of nature, being in ceremony every day, guided by her ancestors.
